Brighton, CO (February 15, 2018) - The Brighton Kiwanis club is again sponsoring their annual Stars of Tomorrow Talent Show, which showcases the performing talents of local students. This year’s event will be held at Southeast Elementary School, located at 1595 E. Southern Street in Brighton. Local youth have the opportunity to compete in four divisions, ranging from kindergarten through high school. Acts include vocal, musical, dance and acting.

Brighton Kiwanis Club Seeks Donations for South Elementary Students - 09/09/2016

Brighton, CO (September 9, 2016) - The Brighton Kiwanis club is again Partnering with Brighton’s South Elementary school to support the purchase of clothing and shoes for children in need. The goal is to raise $60 per child by September 30, 2016, to help clothe students for the new school year. Last year South Elementary school’s staff and other donors provided clothing for about 32 children, and this year we would like to increase that donation to 40 children.

2016 Santa Project - 01/06/2016

Brighton Kiwanis was able to provide a special Christmas for 20 children from five different families from Pennock Elementary this year. Bob Grant organized the event which included shopping for gifts, wrapping the clothing and toys, and finally a special delivery by Santa himself. The project was completed with 74.5 hours of volunteer labor.

Special thanks to Julie Gibeau of the Bomgaars store @ 2350 E. Bridge Street, whose baked goods sales raised a whopping $3,700 for the project, providing most of the toys for the children on Santa's special list. Brighton Kiwanis Club to support students in need - 09/16/2015

Brighton, Colo — The Brighton Kiwanis Club is once again partnering with Brighton’s South Elementary School to purchase clothing and shoes for students in need. The goal this year is to raise $1,800, or $60 per child, by mid-October to help clothe 30 students for the new school year. The annual drive is one of many service projects that the Brighton Kiwanis Club takes on to make a positive difference in the lives of children and adults in the Brighton community.

Brighton Kiwanis Club Announces 2015 Scholarships for School District 27J - 03/10/2015

Brighton, CO–The Brighton Kiwanis Club is pleased to offer two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors of School District 27J. The awards are based on a variety of criteria including academic and personal achievement during high school, community involvement, test scores, and financial need. The application process also includes essay questions and a 500 maximum word essay.

Kiwanis Club to dedicate school Buddy Benches in honor of late members - 10/20/2014

Brighton, Colo. (Oct. 21, 2014) – The Brighton Kiwanis Club will dedicate Buddy Benches at three elementary school playgrounds Friday. The Buddy Bench idea was brought to School District 27J last school year by Thimmig Elementary student Ethan Thomas-Gonzales who helped install a bench at his school. The idea is simple. Any child feeling alone can sit on the bench and, when another child sees them, they will come ask them to play. Kiwanis Club of Brighton Donates Medical Equipment - 10/07/2014

The Kiwanis Club of Brighton recently donated $1000 to the Brighton Fire Rescue District for the purchase of emergency medical equipment used in pediatric emergencies.

The Fire District identified specific equipment that would address respiratory issues when treating children. The equipment included pulse oximetry to measure oxygen in the blood, measurement tapes to assist in sizing children for various devices and treatments, aspirators designed for airway suction, and forceps for removing airway obstructions. The grant amount allowed the purchase of this pediatric equipment for each of the Fire District’s fire engines.

Brighton Kiwanis Club to Present Over $2,000 to South Elementary School for Students In Need - 09/23/2014

The Brighton Kiwanis Club, with generous support of club members, South Elementary faculty, and donations from the community, will present a check September 24 for more than $2,000 to South Elementary School Principal Kay Collins to support the Clothes for Kids shopping project.
