Are you looking for ways to get to know people in your community? To connect with others—and get involved in projects that change lives? Then you’ve come to the right place. Kiwanis is all about making friends—and making an impact—in your local community.

The Kiwanis Club of Brighton, a part of Division 11 of the Rocky Mountain District of Kiwanis and a member of Kiwanis International, is an active and fun group of adults who plan and participate in service projects and programs to help make Brighton a better community for youth. We meet for lunch Wednesdays from noon to 1:00 at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 1096 E. Bridge Street. Meetings are open to guests interested in learning more about the club and/or exploring membership. For additional information about our meetings and events, visit our Facebook page.

Each year, through a variety of programs and projects, we positively impact hundreds of children and their families in the Brighton community. Our annual programs and projects include:

  • Stars of Tomorrow Talent Competition
  • Youth Safety A.W.A.R.E. Fair
  • Bringing Up Grades (BUGs) at the Boys & Girls Club
  • Scholarships
  • All Comers Track Meet
  • All Comers Cross Country Meet
  • Fall Coat Drive
  • Back to School Shopping for South Elementary Kids
  • Thanksgiving Meals in partnership with the Elks Lodge
  • Holiday Toy Drive
  • Santa Project
  • Collecting Box Tops for Education for South Elementary
  • Collecting soda pop top tabs for Ronald McDonald House of Denver

Additionally, we provide financial support for

  • Brighton High School DECA
  • Brighton Youth Commission SPEAK Week
  • travel expenses for youth leaders to travel to leadership camp

In 2014, we also

  • Partnered with School District 27J to provide a Buddy Bench to 14 elementary school campuses
  • Provided $1,000 of specialized pediatric emergency medical supplies to Brighton Fire Protection District
  • Donated over $600 to the Kiwanis International Eliminate Project to eliminate Neonatal Tetanus

  • Sponsored two deserving youth from the Boys & Girls Club to attend Key Leader Camp

Spirit of Kiwanis
Kiwanis clubs, located in 80 nations, help their communities in countless ways. Each community’s needs are different—so each Kiwanis club is different. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things happen.

Service footprint: Service is at the heart of everything our club does. Our mission: changing the world by serving children, one child at a time.

Fellowship and fun: Our members don’t just do service—we have fun. Our members make new friends by being part of a club where they attend meetings and participate in social events. Our club also provides excellent networking opportunities for professionals.
